NEW YORK – Jonquel Jones and the New York Liberty beat the Las Vegas aces again Monday night, outclassing them in the Barclay’s Center 94-85.

Jones struggled from the field going 1-8 for four points but she pounded the glass and showed off her trademark stifling defense grabbing 10 rebounds with a block and a steal, allowing the liberty to outscore the aces in the paint, 44-36.

Sabrina Ionescu led the Libs in scoring with 25 points and Breanna Stewart had 20 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists.

Jackie Young led the aces with 24 points.

Meanwhile, Mike Strachan has been cut by the Indianapolis Colts.

The wide receiver out of Grand Bahama totaled only five catches for 85 yards in a two-year stint in Indianapolis marred by injuries. Leaving him on the bubble to make a roster spot coming into training camp this year.

A coaching change from Frank Reich, who drafted him, to current coach Shane Steichen may have also played a role in his departure from the team.

During Strachan’s time with the colts, he was regarded as a hard worker showing a lot of promise in camp and in exhibition games, however, he was not able to overcome his injuries and get on the field for extended periods.
