DPM: Obie Always Made You Feel Like A Friend
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It was a celebration of life, filled with songs and tributes as those who knew and loved Obie Wilchcombe gathered to pay their final respects.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It was a celebration of life, filled with songs and tributes as those who knew and loved Obie Wilchcombe gathered to pay their final respects.
There were reflections on Wilchcombe’s life as a proud graduate of Queen’s College Class of 1975 and then there were memories of his later life when he served as minister of tourism.
In an emotional tribute, former colleague Lisa Rahming fought to hold back tears as she reflected on her relationship with Wilchcombe, who she worked closely with in the ministry for social services and urban development.
His cabinet colleague, Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper had this to say about the man who was more than a colleague.
And as those from all walks of his life came together to honor the late Obie Wilchcombe the message was clear – One Love, The Legacy continues.
