NAPLES, FLORIDA – Seven Bahamians were among the 200 who played in the university sports program colleges showcase in Naples, Florida over the weekend.

The team included twin brothers Sharano and Shavano Hanna, Leila o’Brien, Sierra Rodgers, Dentry Mortimer Jr, Kai Rees and Sapphire Ferguson.

Coached by Phillip Major and Marvin Rolle and supported by Atlantis, who hosts the program at it’s scenic tennis facility, the program aims to teach young tennis players the game and provide them opportunities to get scholarships and take their games to the next level.

Soccer

The UB Mingoes played a barnburner against the Western Warriors, coming away with a 1-1 draw.

Coming out of a scoreless first half, Peter Julemis would score a goal in the 46th minute to put the Mingoes up before the Warriors answered in the 51st.

Despite getting a few shots, both teams failed to capitalize, ending the game in a stalemate.
