NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Chairman of the Junkanoo Corporation of New Providence Dion Miller is supporting government’s decision to demand the return of thirty thousand dollars in seed funding from Prodigal Sons.
This came after the group was noticeably absent from the Boxing Day and New Year’s parades for 2 years in a row.
With the ministry also announcing that other groups may face similar consequences. Miller says it’s not a surprise.
Now Our News has reached out to the group many times over the last few weeks, but calls have remained unanswered.
So we asked Miller about the group being a no-show to major parades. But he wasn’t saying much either.
Some speculate the group’s absence was due to a fire that destroyed their shack in November 2022. Miller says it’s more than that.
