RUSSIA – Alexei Navalny was reportedly on the brink of being released in a prisoner swap before his untimely death, according to his ally Maria Pevchikh.

She revealed in a Youtube video plans for Navalny’s exchange with Russian hitman Vadim Krasikov, alongside two us citizens held in Russia.

Negotiations, involving American and German officials, were said to have been ongoing for two years, with a concrete plan formed in December.

However, President Vladimir Putin allegedly reversed the decision last minute, demonstrating his disdain for Navalny who was russia’s opposition leader and fierce critic of Putin.

The Kremlin has yet to respond to these allegations.
