NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two women who failed to ensure that a murder suspect appeared for his trial have been ordered to pay his $15,000 bail bond.

Jasmine Thompson and Oreantheia Mackey were summoned to appear before Justice Gregory Hilton after their cousin Shelton Thompson failed to return to court on February 20, a day after a jury was selected to hear his case.

He’s accused of fatally stabbing Richard Bremmer during a fight that stemmed from a traffic accident on April 13, 2009.

Both women told the court that they had no idea where Thompson was and had no way of contacting him.

They were also unaware that his trial was about to begin.

Justice Hilton have given the women until June 30 to pay $15,000 each. An arrest warrant remains outstanding for Thompson.
