Former FNM Leader: I’m In Discussions With My Family and Advisors
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Former Prime Minister and current Member of Parliament for Killarney Dr. Hubert Minnis, tightlipped on whether he will contest the leadership post in the upcoming Free National Movement convention on June 1.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Former Prime Minister and current Member of Parliament for Killarney Dr. Hubert Minnis, tightlipped on whether he will contest the leadership post in the upcoming Free National Movement convention on June 1.
Amid speculation that Dr. Minnis would contest the party’s top seat, here’s what he had to say.
After losing the General Election in 2021, Dr. Minnis resigned as party leader, paving the way for current party leader Michael Pintard who was elected in November that year. The last FNM convention was held in February 2022.
It was decided that this year’s convention be a one-day event, Minnis doesn’t agree.
And at a time where questions are raised about unity in the party, most noticeably with Dr. Minnis absent from the West Grand Bahama and Bimini campaign trail back in October, Minnis says his attention is forward.
