FNM Chairman Officially Nominates, Supports Party Leader

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – As the FNM gears up for its one-day convention on June 1st, when all positions will be up for grabs, party chairman Dr. Duane Sands says he has no plans on losing his post.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – As the Free National Movement gears up for its one-day convention on June 1st, when all positions will be up for grabs, party chairman Dr. Duane Sands says he has no plans on losing his post.

The heart surgeon by profession, served as chairman since 2022, something he says has been a privilege and an honor.

But the rivalry for the seat of chairman is will be a competitive one, as former FNM MP Elsworth Johnson and FNM Vice Chairman Richard Johnson will all be vying for that position. 

But Sands says he’s not concerned.

And what if he doesn’t win? Sands said he will remain an FNM.

At the convention, former prime minister Dr. Hubert Minnis will be running for party leader against current leader Michael Pintard.

Sands making it clear he supports Pintard.
