NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Reassuring and inspiring is how Prime Minister Philip Davis describes the 2024/2025 Budget as he says it is welcomed by those with their eyes on long-term growth for the country.

The prime minister shares there will be a review of public sector salaries as he says employees deserve fair and competitive. Compensation.

The government will also introduce a bi-weekly pay schedule for all public sector employees through “cloud Bahamas”

As it relates to the island of Grand Bahama, the prime minister clarified that the government is purchasing the Princess Towers Hotel, West Sunrise Highway and the International Bazaar for less than four million dollars.

He also gave an update on the sale of the Grand Lucayan Resort.

Millions of dollars have also been allocated for national security and education across the country that includes the expansion of the national school breakfast program.

Prime Minister Davis also admits the country’s energy infrastructure is outdated and broken.

The prime minister says government will make a major announcement about the future of the power giant before the end of the budget debate.
