UNITED STATES – The Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday the White House and federal agencies like the FBI can continue urging social media platforms to remove content considered misinformation.

The decision, a win for the Biden administration, means Homeland Security can still flag posts by foreign agents aiming to disrupt the Presidential race.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett, writing for the 6-3 majority, stated that the plaintiffs lacked standing to sue.

Republican officials and social media users had challenged this practice, claiming it was coercive and violated free speech, but the court disagreed.
