GRENADA – Under Grenada Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell’s chairmanship, CARICOM has renewed its call for the U.S. to lift its unilateral financial, economic, and trade embargo on Cuba.

The 47th conference of Heads of Government expressed deep concern in a statement over the worsening humanitarian situation in Cuba due to the 62-year embargo and criticized the U.S. State Department’s designation of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism.

CARICOM leaders have agreed to offer material support to Cuba and reiterated their demand for the country to be removed from the U.S. Terrorism list.
