PARIS, FRANCE – Today was an off day for Team Bahamas but we’re set for a busy weekend in Paris.

Athletics competition begins on Friday and several members of Team Bahamas will make their Olympic debut.

Ken Mullings begins his journey in the men’s decathlon Friday morning.

He begins with the 100m at 4:05am, followed by the long jump at 4:55, and the shot put at 6:15.

He returns for the high jump at noon and concludes the day with the 400m at 2:50pm.

Charisma Taylor is in the qualifying round for the women’s triple jump at 12:15pm.

The much anticipated mixed 4x400m relay team will run in round one at 1:15pm.

Rhanishka Gibbs will contest the women’s 50m freestyle on Saturday august 3rd at 5:16am.

Chisolm Makes Yankee History

It’s been three games, and Jazz Chisholm Jr is already a New York Yankees legend.

Chisholm became the first player in yankee history to hit four home runs in his first three games with the franchise.

The newly acquired Chisholm powered the Yankees’ fourth straight win, a 7-6 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in 12 innings last night at citizens bank park.

Chisholm hit a pair of home runs for the second consecutive game and finished 3-6 with 5 RBI, and two runs.

It’s been an amazing 72 hours.

Smith Competes With Top Riders In The Region

Bahamas Equestrian is back on the international stage.

Kacy Lyn Smith and her horse, D’angelo 6, are representing the country at the FEI North America Youth Jumping Championships in Traverse City, Michigan.

The FEI North American Youth Championships (NAYC) is the premier equestrian competition in North America, featuring show jumping and dressage.

Smith is one of just two caribbean athletes in the field.

She is the first Bahamian junior rider to qualify for the FEI NAYC.

NCAA Summer Basketball Action

It’s an active summer for NCAA basketball in The Bahamas.

The Louisville Cardinals began the Pat Kelsey era with a 111-59 win over The Bahamas select team in the first game of the Baha Mar summer league.

Kino Burrows led The Bahamas with 24 points and eight rebounds.

J’vonne Hadley led seven louisville players in double figures with 18 points.

Over at the Summer of Thunder at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium, East Carolina University defeated The Bahamas all stars 91-70.

Richard Lowe led the all-stars with 23 points and nine rebounds, Corey Sands scored 17 and David Mcintosh scored nine.
