ISRAEL – Israel’s Trades Union Federation called for a general strike on Monday to pressure the government into signing a hostage deal with Hamas after 6 hostages held in Gaza since October, have been found found dead.

The strike follows a huge protest in Tel Aviv on Sunday. At least 700,000 people have taken part in protests.

The nationwide strike swept across Israel on Monday, further intensifying pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyah.

An Israeli court has ordered an end to the general strike, but protests continue.
