NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The nation’s leader is tightlipped when it comes to revealing who made contributions to the Progressive Liberal Party.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The nation’s leader is tightlipped when it comes to revealing who made contributions to the Progressive Liberal Party.
This after Opposition Leader Michael Pintard challenged Prime Minister Philip Davis two weeks ago to release his party’s donor list.
Davis told reporters Tuesday morning, he will only share those names if given permission.
There’s been back and forth for weeks over campaign finance reform.
Last month, the prime minister challenged Pintard to confirm or deny if his campaign received funds from the Grand Bahama Port Authority, a claim Pintard firmly denied.
But the GBPA Director Rupert Hayward told Our News team on Monday evening that financial contributions have been made to both parties.
When asked if campaign finance reform legislation was needed, Davis said it is not a priority at this time.
