Bus Passenger: It’s Frightening Man, The Speeding and Overtaking

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – For many Bahamians, using public transportation is a daily reality.  The jitney, as it’s known locally, is the primary mode of travel for countless people heading to work, school, or  just even to run errands. But for many riders, frustrations are mounting.

Videos like the ones we showed on television, show the reckless driving by some jitney drivers. 

“The drivers have to be running up and down, trying to compete for a dollar, for a dollar fifty and in doing that, you’re putting the public at risk,” said Richard Catwright.”

I reached out to the officials at the Bahamas Unified Bus Drivers union for comment but they were unavailable for comment.

Meantime, their passengers are uging the government intervene.
