Team Bahamas Headed to Inaugural CARIFTA Gymnastics Games

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – For the first time ever, The Bahamas will field a 23-all girls national team for the inaugural CARIFTA gymnastics competition set to begin in Jamaica on Thursday.

But support is paramount, something the team has not received a lot of when compared to track and field and swimming.

The team leaves on Thursday and will return to The Bahamas on Sunday.

NCAA Women’s Basketball

Coach Yo and her Ole Miss Lady Rebels should be on the court at this hour. The team is playing UConn in the Baha Mar Hoops Continential Tire Championships.

But on Tuesday the team got a warm welcome from Ministry of Tourism officials.

Coach Yo was grateful to the ministry for the warm reception.

Track and Field

Annae Mackey, Dior-Rae Scott and Taysha Stubbs all had their official signing day on Wednesday.

Mackey is headed to Louisville University while Scott and Stubbs are both headed to the University of Nebraska.

Mackey’s focus will be the discus while both Scott and Stubbs will continue to focus on the javelin.

All the ladies are members of Blue Chips Athletics.
