UNITED STATES – The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear TikTok’s last-ditch effort to avoid a nationwide ban or forced sale with arguments set for January 10, just nine days before the ban takes effect.

Government says Tiktok’s ties to China pose security risks, a claim Tiktok and its parent company Bytedance denies.

A federal appeals court recently upheld the ban, calling it the result of bipartisan efforts.

While Donald Trump, who takes office on January 20, has voiced support for Tiktok, some lawmakers oppose blocking the ban.
