NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It was a night filled with vibrant costumes, pulsating drums, and electrifying energy as the streets of Nassau came alive for the 2024 Boxing Day Junkanoo parade. Our Delvardo Emmanuel was in the heart of the action and brings us this colorful recap of the festivities that captured the spirit of The Bahamas and the split that saw two Valley Boys factions head to bay.

Genesis Warhawks set the pace with tiki legends brought to life .

Set to follow them, after a four year hiatus were the Prodigal Sons and the Music Makers but due to some setbacks they were unable to make the line up for their set time.

Both eventually showed up to bay to prove the doubters wrong.

One Family took us on a deep dive into their theme coastal paradise.

The B groups wasn’t left out of the excitement, but the crowd was pretty clear who they wanted see.

And so it was, the most talked about Junkanoo drama in years. The split that led to two factions of the Valley Boys rushing down bay.

First up was the World-Famous faction giving the people what they wanted, a taste of France.

Before the Way Forward Valley Boys rushed, there were a few heavy hitters in between.

Roots took us on a trip to Jamrock!

As hours drew later and later we took time check in some spectators to get their reaction to this year’s parade.

But all that frustration went away when the two time champions came to once again to home the prize, The Saxons.

Then came moment everyone was waiting for, after months of back and forth legal battles that eventually put the fate of the parades on the line. Ultimately breaking free and closing out the 2024 Boxing Day parade, the Way Forward, Valley Boys with Exodus, let my people go.
