SYRIA – Syrians celebrated one month since the fall of Bashar Al-Assad’s regime but expressed concerns about the nation’s future after a 13-year civil war.

Assad fled to Russia on December 8th, ending nearly 25 years of rule after anti-government forces swiftly seized control of Damascus.

International sanctions may ease, with the U.S. issuing a six-month exemption for some transactions to aid Syria’s recovery, while the Suropean union (EU) considers lifting restrictions to support humanitarian efforts.

All eyes are now on Syria’s new rulers as the country begins its rebuilding process.
