NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Hours after the country recorded the first homicide for the year, religious leaders, community activists, and crime consultants held a forum aimed at tackling crime.

They’re focusing on training, that they say will better equip stakeholders to clamp down on crime.

Reaching and engaging troubled kids is key to fighting crime – that’s the focus of crime and community leaders this year.

Several of them gathering at Bahamas Faith Ministries Monday morning for a series of workshops.

Among the top presenters was Teen Challenge Bahamas Executive Director, Eric Fox. He says it’s important for leaders to understand and remain in touch.

Also there was crime consultant, for the Ministry of National Security, Carlos Reid.

With the murder count in the triple digits last year, he says that’s not a trend that should be repeated in 2025.
