NASSAU, BAHAMAS – He’s considered one of the biggest DJs in the world, selling out venues around the world to crowds of more than ten thousand people.

With his blend of EDM sounds and signature energetic cake tossing performances, Steve Aoki recently returned to Aura nightclub at Atlantis Paradise Island.

An unexpected response from Grammy award-nominated dj and producer steve aoki. 

Aoki, who has won awards for his skills on the turntables, entertained mega crowds and has a following of more than 11 million followers on Instagram alone, also holds a degree in sociology and women’s studies. 

He told me that despite his studious qualifications, the desire to pursue music pulsated through his veins.

“I lived a double life when I was in college I was playing in bands making music producing music being in the music world and then I was academic I was an academia and then I had to make a decision when I finished my undergrad what I was going to do and I was like music is just calling me too much.”

“Did you ever think that your calling would take you to such global stages No I didn’t I mean back then like if you go back to that period of time I wasn’t even a dj I was playing in bands I was a guatirist I was a singer we played foxlike ten twenty thirty people I was actually pretty happy with that.”

On Friday night, Aoki made his second appearance in less than a year at Aura nightclub at Atlantis Paradise Island. 

The venue was packed with guest from around the world battling with their camera phones to capture a glimpse of the EDM sensation. 

Aoki told me he is always thrilled to come to the Bahamas, and his reason.

“Cuz I love Bahamas I’ve been coming here a lot whenever an offer comes in I’m like Oh Bahamas I want to comeback beautiful people amazing hospitality everyone is really friendly and nice here and I have a strong local community here as well it’s not just tourist here the locals here are really die hard fans of mine so I really come for them.”
