TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS – A 23-year-old American tourist was fined $3,500 when he appeared before a judge in the Turks and Caicos Islands Supreme Court.

Alex Julian Guzman, a resident of the U.S. state of Michigan, pleaded guilty to the charges on June 2.

At his sentencing on June 5, Guzman was ordered to pay the fine or face 60 days imprisonment.
