NASSAU , BAHAMAS – Another day, another national team destined for greatness. This one heads to TrackTown USA to take on the world.

The 17-member team features record breakers and personal-best performers from this season across several disciplines.

The big names are all there, collegiate stars like Kei-Marie Hanna, Kenny Moxey and Taysha Stubbs, alongside CARIFTA standouts Jacharrio Wilson, Eagan Neely, Carlin Archer and more.

The good news? There’s still time for more names to join the party.

The qualification window doesn’t close until July 15, so the current roster may not be the final one.

One thing is certain, though is that the next generation of Bahamian track and field talent is getting ready for the world stage.

Basketball

His collegiate route took him from junior college to Division I, and now Deyton Albury’s professional basketball journey will begin in Switzerland.

Albury has officially signed his first professional contract, joining Fribourg Olympic Basket of Switzerland for the 2026-27 season.

He closed out an outstanding collegiate career last season at New Mexico and is now set to take his talents to Europe.

Fribourg Olympic described Albury as an athletic and versatile combo guard who will bring energy, defensive intensity and two-way impact to the club.

He began his collegiate career at Chipola College before transferring to Queen’s University, Utah State and ultimately New Mexico.

Golf

The Bahamas Golf Federation has announced the players who will represent the country at the 2026 Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships, and the good news is they won’t have to book a flight.

That’s because the tournament is coming to Nassau, with Royal Blue at Baha Mar set to host the region’s best amateur golfers August 3-6.

The women’s team features Haley Hall, Anissa Robinson, Maddison Carroll and Chemari Pratt, while the men’s team will be led by Alexander Rowland, Devaughn Robinson, Lynford Miller, Nolan Johnson, Richard Gibson Jr. and Sebastian Iberri Calzada.

Last year, The Bahamas finished fifth in Barbados.

Now, if Team Bahamas can take advantage of familiar fairways, local conditions and what everyone hopes will be a home-course advantage, they just might find themselves in the trophy conversation when the final putt drops.
