NBA

Buddy Hield’s future with the Atlanta Hawks remains up in the air.

The Hawks and veteran guard have agreed to push back the guarantee date on his contract, giving both sides additional time to explore their options.

Hield’s contract for the 2026-27 season is currently partially guaranteed at three million dollars. Had the original deadline passed, his full 9.6 million dollar salary would have become guaranteed.

The decision comes just days after Atlanta acquired guard Aaron Wiggins, adding to an already crowded wing rotation.

Hield appeared in just seven regular season games for the Hawks after being acquired from Golden State at the trade deadline.

Whether he returns to Atlanta or finds a new home, the veteran shooter’s status is expected to be one of the team’s biggest offseason decisions.

Basketball

Bahamian guard Domnick Bridgewater has earned one of the highest honors in French professional basketball.

Bridgewater was named the NM1 Import Player of the Year and was also selected to the Eurobasket.com All-NM1 First Team following a standout season with Fos Provence Basket.

The 25-year-old point guard averaged 19.5 points, 4.3 assists and 2.7 steals per game while leading his club in both scoring and playmaking.

Bridgewater helped guide Fos-sur-Mer to one of the best records in the league and a playoff appearance, establishing himself as one of the top players in France’s third division.

During the season, he also rose to the top of the league’s scoring charts and delivered a career-best 34-point performance.
