NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The man charged with the October 31 murder of banker Patrice Sawyer was granted $30,000 bail on Monday.

Senior Justice Bernard Turner ignored objections from prosecutors, who asked that Lynden Vincent be held without bail, citing alleged evidence linking him to the fatal shooting.

Sawyer was shot in the head soon after she went outside of the Johnson Road home she shared with her parents after she received a phone call.

Vincent, her ex-boyfriend, sought bail on medical grounds.

Bail has been set at $30,000 with two sureties on the condition that Vincent is fitted with an electronic monitoring device and checks in at a police station three times a week.
