HAITI – As gang violence rages on in Haiti, the cholera outbreak on that island continues to worsen.

Pan American Health officials confirming that cases have jumped from single to double digits over the last week.

The jump in cases comes more than three years after no cases of the virus were reported.

PAHO Director Dr. Carissa Etienne giving a breakdown of the most recent statistics.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness also confirming the country’s first case of cholera in The Bahamas since 2017.

The patient is a 52-year-old Bahamian man with recent history of travel.
