Committee Renews Calls for Reparations

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prince Edward and Countess Sophie of Wessex wrapping up their two-day visit to The Bahamas today.

During their trip they met with the nation’s leader, engaged with volunteers and attended an awards ceremony for the Governor General’s Youth Awards.

The trip catching the attention of The Bahamas National Reparations Committee which released a statement calling on the royals to heed their calls for reparations.

In that statement the group insists the time for reparations is now.

In 2014, the Christie administration appointed The Bahamas National Reparations Committee ahead of a formal push by CARICOM heads to get reparations, debt cancelation, and an apology from former European colonizers.
