NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It was a ceremony steeped in tradition as Constance Delancey officially took the oath to serve as a Supreme Court Justice on Tuesday.

Family, colleagues, and close friends gathered at government house to witness the swearing-in of the new justice for the northern Bahamas.

Justice Delancey brings years of legal experience to the bench, having served in various capacities within the judicial system. Roles she doesn’t take lightly.

Fast forward to 2017, when she was appointed Assistant Registrar in the Supreme Court.

She was then made Deputy Registrar with responsibility for court services. In 2021, she was sworn in as Registrar of the Supreme Court.

But she couldn’t have done it alone. Justice Delancey recounted how her path to the Supreme Court was paved by the support and sacrifices of people in her life.

Her speech was not only a reflection of her personal journey but also an inspirational message for future generations.
