NASSAU, BAHAMAS – An Appeal Court has branded a double murderer’s bid to have his case revisited a second time as an abuse of process.

Devaughn Hall is serving a 60-year sentence for the September 12, 2015 murders of Barry and Sheena Johnson in Grand Bahama and a concurrent 25-year sentence for armed robbery.

Hall was the mastermind of a plot to ambush and rob the couple at their Grand Bahama home. He shot Mr Johnson in the head before shooting and killing his wife.

The Court of Appeal upheld Hall’s convictions and sentences in 2021.

The court refused to reopen the matter in 2023, and told Hall to take the matter to the Privy Council, the country’s final court

Instead of going to the higher court, Hall tried to have his appeal reopened once again.
