PHILADELPHIA, U.S.A. – The NBA season is an 82-game winding road full of peaks, valleys, and dangerous turns but Eric Gordon seems to have found his lane.

The 6’3” shooting guard had one of his better games of the season, scoring 15 points and dishing out 3 assists to help his Philadelphia 76ers get the upper hand against the Cleveland Cavaliers 132-129.

Gordon, who also stars for the Bahamas National Team in the offseason began the season in a shooting slump shooting only under 33% from the field and under 24% from three during October and November. His shooting struggles relegated him to the bench for most of December when he played three of a possible twelve games.

The team struggled along with Gordon, limping to a 16-27 record including 7 straight losses coming into Friday night, leaving them firmly outside the postseason picture at  11th place in the Eastern Conference. The Cleveland Cavs on the other hand are surging, leading the conference and tied for a league-best 36-8 record.

But on Friday night, Gordon showed that sweet jumpshot that kept him in the league for almost two decades and vanquished the last embers of Argentina’s once-famed national basketball program. He was 5-8 from the floor and was perfect from behind the arc going 4-4 in 38 minutes of play to lead the struggling Sixers to a much-needed win over the best team in the league.

Paul George led the way for the Sixers with 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists and Donovan Mitchell had 37 points for the Cavs.

The Sixers will shoot for a second straight win tonight when they take on the Chicago Bulls.
