NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Will there be a recession in 2023 – thats the question many are wondering as economies across the world continue to face challenges. And if so, how will this affect The Bahamas? 

Economist and CEO of Fidelity Bank and Trust International Limited, Gowon Bowe says Bahamians should pay special attention to world economic affairs.

He says he believes the plans of the federal reserve is to create a period of negative growth in order to get inflation under control, as well as a period of immediate stimulus.

So what does it mean for The Bahamas?

Bowe says there’s still a significant period of time where the Bahamian economy will have its ups and downs.
