FNM Leader: Involve Stakeholders Before Making GB Decisions

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Leader of the Free National Movement Michael Pintard responding to Prime Minister Philip Davis’ recent comments about the Grand Bahama Port Authority. 

Pintard is urging the Davis Administration to include more Grand Bahama voices around the table. 

During his budget communication in Parliament on Wednesday, Prime Minister Philp Davis, stating that “in due course” he will make a detailed announcement as it relates to the Hawksbill Creek agreement and the Grand Bahama Port Authority. 

Pintard says the relevant stakeholders must have a say in future decisions, including the three FNM Parliamentarians who hold Grand Bahama seats in Parliament.

He says the FNM has made it very clear they have concerns regarding the quality of performance by the GBPA.

He says there are a number of issues they are willing to discuss with stakeholders. 

Pintard also addressing an age-old concern for residents, the number of derelict buildings around the island as the GBPA claims they face constraints in enforcing environmental laws because of the absence of by-laws.
