NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Governor General Cornelius A Smith, and other senior government officials, gathering Wednesday morning to pay their respects and sign the book of condolences for former veteran journalist and diplomat, Eldred “Ed” Bethel.

Bethel, who will be remembered as a trusted voice, an iconic broadcaster and statesman, passed away last week at the age of 82.
Foreign Affairs Minister Fred Mitchell remembered him for his stellar contribution to broadcasting in the country over the years.
