NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A double murder suspect who evaded authorities for seven years is now behind bars.

Thirty-two-year-old Perry Pickering, who was deported from Florida last week, is charged with the September 15, 2017 murders of 23-year-old Dennis Moss and eight-year-old Eugene Woodside Jr.

The schoolboy was killed by a stray bullet while doing his homework in his wooden home.

Prosecutors allege that a gunman alleged to be Pickering was shooting at Moss when Woodside was killed.

Lloyd Minnis, who allegedly served as Pickering’s getaway driver, was charged in 2017 and is still awaiting trial.

Pickering did not have to enter pleas to the charges when he stood before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley on Monday.

Bail was denied, and Pickering is due back in court on December 12 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
