Funky D Releases New Single; Transcending Generations

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – He’s been entertaining crowds with his dramatic dance moves and “blinged-out” apparel for decades. You know him as Funky D, I personally call him Mr. Energy.

The Rake ‘n’ Scrape icon recently released a new single. He says it’s a melody of awareness for his fellow senior men.

“A sugar daddy is a guy who has a lot of money, and the ladies only really love him because of his money,” says Funky D.

Ironically, the curation of the song involved two young men, artist and one of the writers on the single, Sleepy Lexx, along with producer MacInTheDay.

Both are the sons of Rake ‘n’ Scrape powerhouse D-Mac.

“I already had the beat 60 percent done, so it was just kind of me sending it to him, sending him the beat. He liked it, and we just kinda crafted whatever extra stuff we had to add to it, and that was that,” says MacInTheDay – Producer.

“I was actually surprised when his dad said, ‘That’s my son.’ I was like, ‘That can’t be the guy I saw running around the studio,’” says Funky D.

The sweet sound of Rake ‘n’ Scrape is transcending generations, and the production of Sugar Daddy proves that the genre is just like wine.
