NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A mother’s memory is being honored by her children, as they give back to the local senior citizen’s home she supported during her lifetime.

Residents at Pat’s Senior Citizen Home were treated to a luncheon courtesy of Bahama Grill on Monday.

The initiative, put on by the children of the late Gerlene Gibson in her honor, is an annual event celebrated around the time of her birthday.

Eric Gibson Jr., Gerlene’s son and owner of Bahama Grill, said the family seeks to spread awareness about the home and carry on the legacy of their mother.

The home has been in operation for 14 years and can house up to 80 residents. Owner Patricia Moxey says while they are grateful for support received over the years, more help is needed.

Hugh Clarke has been a resident of the home for two years. He says he is grateful for the care he receives.
