GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Grand Bahama resident, Johnny Jones recalls the day he says changed his life forever.

In May of 2019, Jones had just finished work at a local primary school and was riding his bicycle home, when three pit bulls charged at him.

Jones, who says he was traveling on Erikson Road, Freeport, lost control and fell. As the dogs continued their attack, Jones used his bike as a shield.

Jones claims that a person opened a gate, allowing the dogs to enter but instead of stepping in to help him, they did nothing.

Now six years later, the physical and emotional scars remain, Jones showing us the marks on his leg, a constant reminder of that terrifying day.

And after years of legal battles, he says his case was dismissed.

The elderly man says his medical bills worth some $14,000 remain unpaid and he is in need of help.

Jones, urging lawmakers to take action, calling for stricter penalties for irresponsible pet owners.

He’s also pleading with dog owners to secure their properties, so no one else falls victim to this type of attack.
