NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A local church in the Bain and Grants Town Community continuing to lend a helping hand to those in need. The feeding program is looking to expand to assist more residents through what many are calling a challenging time.

Mount Olive Baptist Church has been feeding persons in the community for the past 35 years focusing mainly on feeding the elderly. But, Reverend CB Moss says since the pandemic there was a greater need for food assistance from the wider community.

He says the demand lead them to partner with Bain and Grants Town Advancement Association to establish the feeding Bain and Grants Town Project.

He says about 250 families are fed on a weekly basis not including those who receive food packages. Moss also adding that the project has made it possible for a lot of the local residents to sustain their families.

And, with the global inflation crisis and the rising cost of living, making it difficult for many Bahamian families to survive, Reverend Moss says it is important to be their brothers keeper.
