CANADA – Starting this fall, for the first time, Canadian travelers have the option of direct air service to multiple cities.

Three airlines, including one of the country’s oldest airline partners, Air Canada, will operate daily non-stop service from a total of five cities.

One in particular is especially close to many Bahamians who called this city home, while in university, many staying on when their studies were done.

It’s a huge responsibility for Tourism’s Director General Latia Duncombe and the team she leads at the ministry.

This week, they are hopping across three cities here in Canada. On Tuesday night, the global sales mission was on display in Halifax.

The presentation is a fire-side chat with the DG and Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper, led by General Manager of  the Ministry of Tourism’s Toronto office Mikala Moss.

On Tuesday night a room full of travel experts from the Halifax area learned about the offerings of a Bahamian vacation, now made a lot easier  with the introduction of non-stop service from Halifax to Nassau.

There’s also a special connection to Halifax, this city, which sits on the northern coast in the province of Nova Scotia, has been home for so many Bahamians, for decades making the connection special for Haligonians like Judy Munden at Air Canada.
