NASSAU, BAHAMAS – An inner city church breaking ground on a multi-purpose centre Friday aimed at catering to that community.

Pastor of the New Unity Fellowship Church Overseer Sharon Nairn says it wasn’t easy acquiring the land but she says the non-profit organisation went to every park in Bains and Grants Town distributing food and groceries.

Also on hand for the groundbreaking ceremony were Deputy Governor General Cynthia Mother Pratt and State Minister for Social Services and Urban Development Lisa Rahming.

Pratt, who served as minister of national security and deputy prime minister, stressed how important the facility is for the area.
