PHILADELPHIA, U.S.A. – Kai Jones’ path back to the NBA begins in earnest on Friday.

The Bahamas National Team standout and former Charlotte Hornet will reportedly sign a 10-day contract with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Drafted in 2021 by the Knicks and traded on draft night, Jones spent two seasons in Charlotte, playing sparingly in 67 games.

The relationship between the 6’11 forward and the organization fractured last October after a series of social media posts.

The Hornets subsequently excused him from training camp, Jones requested a trade, and was waived shortly thereafter.

He returned to competitive basketball with Team Bahamas at the FIBA Americup qualifiers last month where he averaged 13.5 points and 8 rebounds per game against Puerto Rico.

With reigning MVP center Joel Embiid sidelined, the 76ers are searching for front-court depth alongside Mo Bamba and Paul Reed.

The 76ers host the Hornets Saturday night at 7pm.

Repairs to the Betty Kelly Kenning Aquatic Center have been a point of contention in public discourse, and with CARIFTA just weeks away, the government offered a pivotal update on its progress.

According to Robert Mouzas, Deputy Director of Structural Engineering in the Ministry of Works. Complete renovations to the facility, which extends well beyond the pool, costs $5 million.

Minister of Youth, Sports, and Culture Mario Bowleg said the investment is indicative of his administration’s commitment to developing state-of-the-art sports facilities.
