NASSAU, BAHAMAS – While flowers, baskets, and other sweet treats are exchanged in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, another profound gift is being given to those in need the gift of life through blood donation.

For the second consecutive year, the Kenise Symonette-Darville Foundation hosted its annual blood drive at university of The Bahamas.

The untimely passing of Kenise last year sent shockwaves throughout the country, drawing more attention to the state of healthcare in the nation.

Her husband, Jared, keen on continuing her legacy.

Over a year since his wife’s passing, Darville remains committed to their shared vision, and says it’s his faith and family that keeps him going.

And for UB, the blood drive represents an opportunity to raise awareness and dispel fears of giving.
