Man Who Leaked Viral Voice Notes Allegedly Shot on Facebook Live

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The whistleblower who leaked a series of voicenotes that led to Criminal Investigation Department Head Chief Superintendent of Police Michael Johnson taking leave was allegedly shot while on a Facebook live late Monday night.

The incident allegedly happened at a home in the United States. 

The man who goes by  the name Sylvens Metayer had hundreds of viewers when gunfire rang forcing him to fall to the ground.

In the background, you can hear what sounds like a child crying and an unidentified woman calling 911.

The Our News team reached out the Miami Dade Police Department which said it had no reports of any situation fitting the description.

We were then directed to the Public Information Office at the City of Miami Police Department after reviewing the video they concluded it was not in the City of Miami.

The public information officer added they could not tell what police department wears the patches worn by the officers in the video.

Metayer’s Facebook page says he lives in Atlanta, Georgia. Well, we also reached out to the police department there. They say the name doesn’t appear in any of their search results.

Metayer posted to Facebook earlier on Monday that he had a dream he would be shot.

Before the alleged shooting, Metayer was making disparaging comments against the senior branch of the Royal Bahamas Police Force.

This incident came hours after police commissioner held a press conference on Monday where he revealed international support will help with the investigation into the CID and internal transfers within the force.

CID Chief Michael Johnson has been put on leave with pay.

Fernander saying the matter will not disappear out the back door.

The incident leaving many to question the integrity of the Royal Bahamas Police Force.

In his press conference Monday, the Commissioner admitted the incident affects public trust and confidence within the force.
