Frisco’s Recovery at the Humane Society

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Frisco, a dog at the Bahamas Humane Society, has made remarkable progress since being found in critical condition under a house on September 3. Vets believe he suffered multiple centipede bites, resulting in infected abscesses and damaged bones in his larynx, causing a hoarse bark. He was also treated for heartworm and two tick-borne diseases.

Marcien Pinder – Supervisor, Bahamas Humane Society
“He’s a sweet dog. He loves to sit in chairs, he loves to play, he’s friendly, he’s very nice. Good with other dogs—I’m not sure how he is with cats—but otherwise, he’s very playful, very kind, very loving.”

Frisco recently took a major step in his recovery by joining the dog-walking group.

Marcien Pinder – Supervisor, Bahamas Humane Society
“Obviously, he’s still got a lot of weight to gain. I’d say give him another three weeks to a month. Hopefully, by then, his skin should be fully recovered, and his face should be 100 percent healed.”

Pinder encourages people to help with Frisco’s healing journey.

Marcien Pinder – Supervisor, Bahamas Humane Society
“They can donate toward his medical issues, take him out for walks, bathe him, or foster him. Anything you can do to help, we would appreciate it, and Frisco would gladly appreciate it too.”
