MEXICO – Mexico’s newly elected President, Claudia Sheinbaum, extended an olive branch to the over one-third of Mexicans who didn’t vote for her.

As the first woman to win the presidency, she faces the challenge of uniting a country deeply divided by outgoing President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Despite widespread discontent with cartel violence and economic issues, Sheinbaum vowed to continue her predecessor’s populist policies, promising to serve all Mexicans.

Sheinbaum has four months until she takes office, and her leadership will be crucial in restoring national unity.
