NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police announcing more arrests in connection with Sunday’s tragedy at sea, saying, three Bahamian men are now in custody. This as National Security Minister Wayne Munroe says charges will be brought against those responsible.

The national security minister promising those responsible for the crime will be charged with human smuggling offenses. Minister Munroe’s comments came as a third Bahamian man was arrested in connection with the alleged human smuggling incident.

According to the Criminal Investigation Department, the man was arrested at a residence in central New Providence shortly after 9PM on Sunday without incident.

Munroe says investigations are underway to find out the full extent of the operation.

Deputy Commander of the Defense Force Shondel Pinder confirming the search continues and there are eight to 18 people missing.
