NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Dr. Kenneth Romer, Deputy Director General of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments and Aviation, emphasized the growing synergy between the Bahamas and Jamaica since the launch of Bahamasair’s direct flight to Montego Bay in November 2024. He stated, “This is not about the Bahamas or Jamaica; this is about the Bahamas and Jamaica.”

The flight has exceeded initial expectations, as noted by Peter Mullings, Deputy Director of Jamaica’s Tourist Board, responsible for marketing. Tanya Pratt, Chairman of Bahamasair’s Board, expressed her appreciation, saying, “I say Kudos to all of the persons that made it happen… we pledge our one thousand percent towards all the initiatives you have planned.”

Philip Rose, Deputy Director of USA Sales for Jamaica’s Tourist Board, highlighted the broader vision for fostering international tourism, stating, “We don’t only want Jamaicans coming to the Bahamas and Bahamas going to Jamaica… we want to curate a truly magical Caribbean experience.”

This collaboration aims to expand not just regional travel, but to create long-lasting connections that promote tourism between the two nations and beyond.
