THE BAHAMAS – Dr. Desiree Cox is a Rhodes scholar, medical doctor, scientist, published author and global thought leader with numerous years of experience in the biomedical and regenerative health solutions fields.

Dr. Cox is the founder and CEO of HEAL Inc. 360 and has been recognized by the British Medical Journal as a Renaissance Woman for applying psychological medicine to real-world problems.

The eldest daughter of a barber and a secretary, Dr. Cox was born in 1965 having an ability to enthrall audiences with her speaking and singing from an early age.

She attended Queen’s College up to 1982 before earning degrees from McGill, Oxford, and Cambridge University.

Among her many achievements, Dr. Cox was one of the architects of the original Urban Renewal initiative in 2002.

Dr. Cox also was the first Bahamian and woman from the Caribbean region to win the Rhodes Scholarship.

She was honored by Pembroke College Oxford University in 2017.

She is an honorary professor of creativity and health at the University of Exeter.

Dr. Cox was memorialized on a commemorative stamp of The Bahamas in 2013, and inducted in the Queen’s College Hall of Fame in 2017.

She has been the lead in developing the stem cell industry in The Bahamas in collaboration with the National Stem Cell Ethics Committee (NSCEC).

She also pilots research in the implementation of telehealth and modernizing the healthcare system in The Bahamas.

Throughout her career, she has introduced creativity in all aspects of her work and has been an inspiration for people from all walks of life.
