NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Attorney General Ryan Pinder says cannabis legislation has been presented to cabinet, both on the medical regime , as well as a regime for religious use.

He says a website with the legislation has been created, and stresses that it’s not just a bill, but all of the regulations, rules, and orders needed to put the regime in place.

Pinder says public consultation is expected to begin shortly after independence.

The attorney general says the public consultation period will also be a time where get feedback on the recreational use of marijuana, and steps toward decriminalization.
