Tech Workers Fight Back Amid Mass Layoffs

INDIA – Thousands of young workers in India are staring at an uncertain future as technology companies and start-ups announce mass layoffs due to global headwinds and funding crunches.

But many of them are not going quietly.

The past few months have been difficult for workers in India in private companies in the tech sector. Job cuts at companies like social media giant Twitter, included half of its staff in India.

Facebook’s parent company, Meta, laid off about 13 percent of its more than 87,000-strong workforce.

The spate of layoffs sparking outrage on social media, as many of those affected are turning to the internet to air their dissatisfaction and form support networks.
